Imagine you are in Africa. You have been tied hanging on a tree with a rope anchored on the ground, a candle is slowly burning the rope, and the lion is waiting for you to drop and be his lunch.

Lion

Your survival hinges on the rope staying intact, there is no one around to help you. What to do now? Give me you answer in the comment box.

Then I will pray for my family wellbeing. I think I’m going finish all the prays in the the bible. Hahaha. Other than that, I will also pray that the lion will choke to death after eating me. Hahahaha. Kidding.

    1. Shake the branch violently and try if the air blows off the candle.

    2. If you can’t do that, pray and hope that the lion gets tired of waiting and gets the hell out of that place. :)

PapaJoneh- Well, you can pray but that’s not the answer I’m looking for..
Kris-1. Good answer but no…it’s not correct
 (according to me, at least), 2. Remember, the candle is burning the ROPE… :!:

Maybe I ought to spice things a little bit…I’m going to give away USD 5.00 via PayPal for the correct answer (according to me, of course)..so, this is becoming the first contest in nimrodjo.com!

Alright; I’ll give it one more try. Technically, if the rope is thick enough, it will sustain the heat produced by candle for a couple of minutes. By then, the candle would have melted down considerably and would have shortened down. As minutes pass by, the candle will become shorter and shorter by melting down and the flame will not be able to burn the rope.

    How about that? :)

Kris-Wow…this is a technical answer you got but the answer I’m looking for is a combination of logic and unlogic answer…it is like answering a riddle…it has a bit twist to it…anyway, thanks for trying…it’s seems that if I can’t an answer to this question, then I’m gonna bring the prize for a year end contest…I just need to think of a contest…stay tuned..:)

  6. Boyington says:

Simple! Sing "Happy Birthday" to the lion…

  7. aryst says:

So, the USD 5 via PayPal is his. Boyington, check your email because I will be sending you the information I need to pay you. For the rest, don’t worry..there is the Year End Contest to enter. Stay tuned….

WAIT! I think I can pee on the candle from here!… or at least on the lion. Maybe he will loose his appetite? If nothing else works then I will be singing the blues and happy birthday to me as I pass on to a new beginning which comes after every ending.  Blessings to the lion as he licks my bones , Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.  P.S., Where’s the person that lit the candle ?, I’m sure I have a song for her!

  13. aryst says:

Hi montgomery…your comment a bit sarcastic  but I approved it anyway…anyway, the puzzle is for fun only…so the answer must be fun…your answer is fun but unfortunately, that’s not what we are looking for here…Merry Christmas to you and bless are those who think simple…
