If you are my blog visitors or readers, you will notice that my blog was down a few days. I think it started to happened on 31/01/2008. What actually happened? The data center for my host server have problems which cause my blog aren’t accessible to others.  This is the problem with local ISP. They are slow in fixing any problems that arise. I actually got email from my hosting company about the problem that arise. The following email is the first email that I receive.

*****************************************************************************************************************************

Pengumuman;

That was their first announcement of the problem arise. Next, I receive their second email explaining this matter in a longer announcement.

****************************************************************************************************************************

Dear all our cPanel clients, There is an IP issue where the access between IP (1 block) with most of overseas locations are not reachable. This has been going on since 31/01/2008 (Thursday). This has caused ; -> cPanel error (Unactivated License File), because license cannot be updated with the CPanel server. You are not able to access cPanel now. -> Clients who are using website content/link from overseas will face slow loading page. Access within Malaysia has no problem. If you still keep our email, kindly read our announcement on 16/12/2007.The situation is almost the same, but this time, the IP is not totally dead, but only the access to/from overseas gets disconnected. We have contacted TMnet since we first found this problem, however, they still have no solutions until now. We understand your frustration, in fact, we are much more disspointed with TMNet as this is not the 1st time the datacenter is giving problem. If the problem comes from the server, we have surely identified the soltuions, and fixed it, but since it’s beyond the server,eg. router/datacenter internal system, etc, we ourself cannot do anything, except for pushing them to fix their problem. We regret that all of this inconvenience happened, and hope for your understanding & patience.

****************************************************************************************************************************

So, I can’t do anything except to wait until they resolve the problem. If my hosting company can only wait, then I too have no choice but do the same. Then, I receive their 3rd email.

***************************************************************************************************************************

The TMnet IP problem still not solved yet. And today (04/02/2008), we are going to the datacenter to meet up with their representative directly.

We suspect that there is an error in their system.

We hope that this problem can be solved after we go to the datacenter today, and the cPanel access will be back as usual.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding & patience.
——————-
Masalah IP TMnet belum lagi selesai dan hari ini (04/02/2008), kami akan ke datacenter untuk bersemuka sendiri dengan mereka.

kami percaya terdapat kesilapan didalam system mereka.

kami harap masaalah ini dapat diatasi, selepas kami ke datacenter, dan akses ke cPanel akan pulih seperti biasa.

Terimakasih kerana anda faham dan bersabar dalam situasi seperti ini.

I think all hosts have occasional glitches. I’ve thought of switching to a new host, but I know that no host is perfect. I see it like this:
Most hosts are relatively inexpensive because of one thing…the Linux operating sytem which is free and open source. If it weren’t for Linux, none of us would have our own sites. Google runs mostly on Linux, that’s how they can afford to offer free blogger blogs for everyone. So, I am thankful to have my own website and thankful that Linux is free!

I am glad to see you back up! Hopefully your host fixed everything:mrgreen:

There are a few more issue to solve. First of all, when I click on your name or your last blog post in my blog (ex. in your last comment) it redirects again to my post. Another reader said to me the same thing about your blog.
Second, you have noticed that your blog appears weird in firefox?
Maybe you will consider changing your ISP, since your blog is loading very slowly.

Hi Diana..thanks for your feed back…About the first problem, I don’t know what’s wrong with the link…For the second problem, actually my blog theme somehow break whenever I copy and paste something from my email…to make the post readable, just click at the small square icon on the right hand corner of the post…it will collapse the side bar and showing just the post……For the last one, I can’t change my ISP because it is the sole provider for most of Malaysian data center…I hope you’ll be patient with this one…

  7. aryst says:

Correction to my last instruction, not the small square but rather the diamond shape square should collapse the side bar…sorry for the wrong info…
